Compensation and Beyond: Enhancing Support for Community Organizers in New York City
Released May 2025!
Organizers are the backbone of our movements—but too often, they’re overworked, underpaid, and expected to keep going without the support they need.
All Due Respect surveyed organizers and directors across New York City to better understand the conditions shaping the organizing workforce. The findings were clear: burnout is widespread, pay is too low, and many organizers are being asked to do critical movement work without the support, resources, or stability they need.
This project shares what’s really happening in the field, and what it will take to build a more sustainable future for organizing in New York City.
